PIXELFONT

When you read a book, you look at one page at a time.

Pixelfont lets you view a whole book—all of it, complete and unabridged—at a glance.

Each type of character is mapped to a pixel with a certain colour. Enjoy your favourite book as an abstract work of art. Or come closer and read each individual character as a printed pixel.

Pixelfont also exposes underlying structures. The pixels form abstract patterns that seem random, but if you look closely you can often recognise structural characteristics of the text.

Each work includes a legend of the colour mapping used. Hooks to hang the work on the wall are attached to the back.

Custom Editions

We can also work on a Custom Edition of your favourite text. Several decisions have to be made when a text is converted to Pixelfont. The shape of the work (square, rectangle, circle,...), the colour spectrum, the size of the work, the material it is printed on, the frame, and so on. When these choices match the context, the final work adds an enriching visual dimension to the original text. We will dive in together, decide on the variables, and create a unique work of art.
